Christine Holmstedt, D.O.

Professor of Neurology and Director of Clinical Stroke Services, Medical University of South Carolina

Dr. Christine Holmstedt is a Professor of Neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is the Vascular Neurology Division Director and the MUSC Health Medical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center and TeleNeuroscience Program. Her areas of special interest include management of acute stroke, improving access to stroke treatments in rural communities and telemedicine. In addition to being an active clinician, Dr. Holmstedt is the principle investigator on numerous NIH and industry studies including acute stroke care, secondary prevention of stroke and rehabilitation post stroke. She educates medical students, residents, fellows and other professionals on neurologic vascular disease.
