The fourth Annual Women for Women Summit, presented by the College of Charleston School of Business, will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Charleston Galliard Center in Charleston, SC. Now in its fourth year, the summit is upgrading to a larger venue to unpack this year’s theme – bold. Tickets are on sale now.

The summit is a full day of inspiring discussions and networking opportunities for women across the state to celebrate, elevate, share and connect with one another.
2024 Keynote Speaker: Lisa D. Cook
This year’s keynote speaker is Governor Lisa Cook of the Federal Reserve Board. Lisa D. Cook took office as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System on May 23, 2022. She was reappointed to the Board on September 8, 2023. Prior to her appointment to the Board, Cook was a professor of economics and international relations at Michigan State University. Cook received a B.A. in philosophy from Spelman College. As a Marshall Scholar, she received a second B.A. in philosophy, politics, and economics from Oxford University. She earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

2024 Woman of Courage Award Recipient: Mary Thornley
Mary Thornley, Ed.D., is the 2024 Woman of Courage Award honoree. It is awarded every year at the Women for Women Summit to a woman who is a proven and impactful leader and has made a significant achievement in their field.
Mary Thornley was president of Trident Technical College from 1991 until July 2024. She truly believes in the transformational power of education and is passionate about the community college’s role in making our communities and our nation stronger, more adaptable, and better able to face the challenges of the future. Thornley has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the South Carolina Order of the Palmetto.
